How hair extensions look like?

Hair extensions are in strands and have a connection tip, the so-called “Bonding” or “Junction”, at the top. This Bonding gently connects the hair strands to your own hair close to the root. The junctions are warmed up and fixed to your hair. This process is repeated strand by strand, until you have the hairstyle you want. Each strand is applied individually and by hand. This system allows for individual customization to your own hair because your stylist can choose from 4 different strand sizes. For volume and fullness for example, strand sizes Normal and Medium are combined for a particularly natural result. The junction are rolled or pressed flat and thus adapted to the shape of your head.

How Long Does the Application of the Strands Take?

Time for application depends on the result you want to have. A compact hair extension requires many more strands than for just hair thickening. First and foremost the time needed depends on the number of strands that need to be applied. Using the method where each strand has to be applied individually, you can expect a time frame of about 1.5 hours for an average hair extension. Please keep in mind that the time for washing and drying, as well as for possible coloring and cutting has not yet been considered here.

How Much Do Hair Extensions Cost?

We can not give you a universally valid answer to this question for several reasons: First off it is important to know what hairstyle you would like, and what your own hair looks like. With this information your hairdresser can decide on how many strands, what length and what structure is to be used for your individual desired hairstyle.

Prices also vary depending on the system that is used. Naturally the much faster Laserbeamer Method is more affordable than the individual application by hand using the Selector Method.
And finally the price depends on what are the additional services accompanying the application such as washing, cutting, coloring etc.

Wearing Hair Extensions

Do Hair Extensions Look Natural? Are They Visible?

Hair extensions look completely natural and are not noticeable to people who don’t know that you are wearing them. We match the strands to your own hair’s structure and color, also correct placement of the strands ensures a perfect result.

There are cases in which is difficult to obtain very natural look. An example is if you have a short hair cut and you would like to wear very long hair extensions. In this case it will probably not be possible to create a flowing transition between your own hair and the hair extensions.

Will I Feel the Hair Extensions?

All the bondings are very small and therefore hardly noticeable. We distinguish between Standard- and ComfortPoint- (CP) Bondings. Standard Bondings are available in three sizes: from SuperSmall to Normal. This diversity of available Bondings allows for a perfect fit of your strands and your own hair. All Bondings are about the same length of 5 – 6mm and are simply of different widths depending on strand size.

How are the strands removed?

We use a Removal Solution to take out the hair strands. This is a special solution, which allows for extra gentle removal.
The Removal Solution is applied to the Bondings and penetrates the Bonding material. The material quickly softens and you can simply remove the strands out. Your own hair and the Hair extensions are not damaged in any way by the Removal Solution.
We recommend a Tidy-Up Cut every four to six weeks in order to ensure especially quick and easy removal. During this service your own hair, which has naturally shedded but is stuck in the Bonding, is cut at the top in order to avoid matting.

How Long Do Hair Extensions Last?

The wearing period of Hair Extensions depend on your individual hair growth, the structure and volume of your own hair and your desired hairstyle. The Bondings slowly move away from your scalp along with your natural hair growth. Therefore the Bondings will be more visible after about four to six months, and should be removed.

You can re-use the hair for another wearing period. This service is called Rebonding, and allows you to wear your hair for up to 1 year.

Can the Hair Be Re-Used?

Yes, it can be re-used up to two times. This service is called Rebonding. After removing the strands we can make a new Bonding.

Hair Care and Styling with Extensions

Do I Have Any Limitations When Wearing Hair Extensions?

You don’t have to limit your lifestyle in any way. Thanks to the secure Bondings and the excellent quality of hair you can pursue all your hobbies and activities as usual.
Long hair always requires more care than short hair, and this is true for Hair extensions as well. If for example you do vigorous exercise on a regular basis and thus have to wash your hair more often, then you have to take especially good care of you Hair extensions in order to enjoy their quality for a long time.

Are Hair Extensions Hard to Take Care Of?

You need to take care of your Hair extensions as you would of your own long hair. Your Hair extensions are not connected to your scalp and therefore not automatically supplied with natural conditioning substances. The special Hair Care Products target this natural deficiency and balance it. When used regularly your Hair extensions will retain its beautiful shine, optimal elasticity and deep color. We can recommend the right combination of products for your hair type.

Can I Style And Color the Hair as Usual?

You can style your hair as usual using your blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron. The same is true for other processes such as perms or color. Having hair extensions does not mean that you are stuck with one particular hairstyle. However, chemical processes like coloring, tinting or perming can drastically change the surface of the hair, thus stressing it. You should only let professionals perform such services in order to get the most out of your Hair extensions.

Brush your hair several times a day from roots to ends using a special Hair extensions Brush in order to prevent tangles. When blow drying be careful not to set the blow dryer too hot, and to keep it at a distance of at least 20cm (8in) from the Bondings. Extreme heat can damage or dry out your Hair extensions.
Beauty Sleep: Tie your hair or put it in a braid before you go to sleep. This is how you avoid tangles in your Hair extensions.

Requirements for Hair Extensions

Do I Have to Meet Certain Requirements in Order to Get Hair Extensions?

With Hair Extensions, reasonably full hair with a minimum length of 8-10cm (3-4in) is enough for the Bondings to be invisible and for the Hairdreams strands to naturally blend with your own hair.
We recommend our Microlines Integration System for very thin and fine hair.

Can I Get Hair Extensions with Heavy Hair Loss?

Since heavy hair loss is often caused by medication or hormonal imbalances, the hair loss has to be stopped before hair extensions strands can be applied. Otherwise we can not guarantee the hold of the strands.

Effect on Your Own Hair

Are Hair Extensions Damaging to My Own Hair?Hair Extensions are very gentle and do not involve chemicals, which ensures that your own hair will not be damaged.

The various strand sizes make it possible to customize hair extensions for your individual hair type.
Shoulder-length hair usually gets split ends and breaks at the level where your hair touches your shoulders. Thanks to the enclosure with strands your own hair can recover during the wearing period and split ends or breakage are prevented from occurring.
Regular follow-up service is a crucial requirement for the perfect condition of your hair. This includes Check-Up Service, Tidy-Up Cuts etc.

Will Hair Extensions Make My Own Hair Fall Out?

We are very careful when applying the hair extensions and we make sure that they are attached to the same amount of your own hair. With the help of our four strand sizes (Normal to Super-Small) your Hair Extensions can be optimally customized for you. The only way you may experience hair loss is if your hair is overstrained because these guidelines were not followed.
